Karnack :)

"What is Karnack?" you say?...

Karnack is actually an itty bitty community here in East Texas. The place I'm talking about is in the town of Karnack: a big tree farm that my friends the Simpsons own and we lovingly refer to the farm itself as "Karnack" :). It's a nice weekend-get-away place for them as well (and for us friends because they generously offer it to us anytime :) ). Besides the pines they grow there, there are their horses, four wheelers, a volleyball net, a swing, a shooting range, trails, and a lovely cabin for relaxing :).

Well, last weekend our friends the Brunsons (Allix and her parents), Daniel, Susanna, and Sophia Simpson, and I hung out there :D.

This fence fences in an old old cemetery that is on their property; it was nice wandering around the old falling apart headstones and trying to read what they said and thinking about what kind of life that person led...

Sophia and I found these melted shards of glass in the fire pit and we just really liked them...the color and the neat shapes :).

This is Sophia. She's 10. (You've probably seen her from time to time in my pictures).

And here she is with her favorite of the horses: Jubal. (He's my favorite too: sure he can be stubborn, but get him on a trail and he does fine :D ).

And this is the horse that Susanna adores: Jeb. Allix actually recently wrote a poem based on Susanna and Jeb. Read it!
